Our Story

This is our effort to build a connection and safe sharing space for caregivers who are expecting or have at least one keiki under the age of 5. We explore a variety of topics and offer real talk in a safe space to authentically connect.

Our Focus

Listen to connect & laughter

Hear & share real life experiences

Support & encourage keiki development

Recognize your self value & importance

Having time to be listened to about the struggles, successes or hilarious moments can lead to uplifting us! We believe this time together can help to strengthen the entire family. When caregivers are at our best, our children can be mentally and emotionally nourished!

We understand that meeting new people, virtually or in person, can bring a certain level of stress or anxiety. Please know we have structure to allow for those who want to speak and for those who would rather listen. We have guidelines and intentions in place to help all in the group be mindful of each other, respecting different views, taking out judgement or shame and keeping it a confidential, safe space.

Tishanie, Upcountry

"I was welcomed into this group as a newly single and only parent. This space provided me with support and connection when I needed it most. Through this space I gained experiences and knowledge from outside of my own perspective. It really helped me through a healing process while providing me with tools and resources that empowered me to build myself as a provider, a parent and a leader. In the beginning I didn't know what I was getting myself into. I just kept showing up. Now when I look back I can see how much I've grown, how far I've come and how much of a positive impact this has made for myself and my daughter."

Makana, Lahaina

"I have found the Talk Story Group very valuable for my life and for my family. It has helped me to love myself more and grow into what God has intended me to live out. Which really is a better me in serving not just my ‘Ohana but also my community. It has allowed me into spaces that made me feel heard as a mother/Kupuna raising my mo’o along with my 2 teenage sons. I felt connected especially in a time when the entire world was being disconnected. Parent Talk Story has helped my mental, emotional, and social state to be somewhat balanced when everything we ever trusted had become uncertain overnight. I truly believe this platform has help me be grounded and focused on what mattered most when no one knew what to expect in the days to come."

Jackie, Wailuku

“I found a solid, safe space for myself. A space that I can trust. A place that is a need. Having the right circle around you is honestly the biggest life upgrade.”
